舞狮, a song dedicated to celebrating the 2025 Lunar New Year, is available now on all major music streaming platforms worldwide. 蛇年大吉。恭喜发财。万事如意。身体康健。大吉大利。年年有余。

Happy Lunar New Year 2025!

I made a song to celebrate 春节, to honor my heritage, and to comfort my inner child who misses her homeland. Some of my happiest memories were the Lunar New Year Eve Dinners of my childhood. In China, we call it 团年饭.

My song is titled 舞狮, which translates into English as Lion Dance. It is a traditional Chinese ritual where performers don a lion's costume and mimic a lion's movement to attract fortune and prosperity.

I composed the song in October 2023 with a heavy emphasis on traditional Chinese instruments such as 二胡 (erhu), 琵琶 (pipa), and 古筝 (guzheng). I wrote the lyrics in both Chinese and English that month, and I recorded the demo. Earlier this month in January 2025, I re-recorded the vocals, mixed and mastered, and completed the song in time for the Spring Festival.
